A native New Yorker and Division One collegiate athlete, Gina Cavallo graduated with her BA from Fordham University in 2004 and then again with her Master’s in Public Communications and Media Studies in 2005. She started her career in 2006 at Ogilvy & Mather, where she worked on digital direct response and branding for clients such as IBM, TD Ameritrade, Kodak and Ceasar’s Entertainment. During her tenure Gina was also an integral part of the team that won MediaWeek’s Media Plan of the Year for Six Flags.
Concurrently, in 2008 Gina developed Fordham University’s first Digital Advertising course, which she continues to teach each spring at the Rose Hill campus. She left Ogilvy & Mather in 2009 to work at Mediavest NY, continuing her role in digital strategy and online buying across the Comcast business.
Staying ahead of the ever-changing advertising world, in 2010 Gina redirected her career to digital sales and started the first sales team in New York for online recommendation giant, Rich Relevance. She later moved to Conversant Inc. (formerly Valueclick Media) in 2011, where she was a member of the sales team, working primarily across strategic accounts and big brands. In August of 2015, Gina accepted the Senior Director role of East Coast Sales at Samba TV, a cutting edge Smart TV apps publishing and advertising company.
Melding her passions for health, fitness and sales at Samba TV, Gina has established herself as the “fit sales rep” within the New York advertising community. Most early mornings Gina is sweat-working with clients in one (sometimes two!) of many local boutique fitness studios, and most evenings she is relationship building over organic wine tastings, healthy cooking classes and exhilarating experiences, such as rock climbing and indoor archery tag. Her real-world antics are documented digitally via #SambaStrong, which is her calling card amongst the ad world and the fitness community.
In addition to her booming career, Gina is passionate about health and fitness. Often training with some of the world’s best athletes, as well as modeling for several fitness and wellness websites, she has become a role model for family, friends and people of all industries for her hard work and dedication to a truly healthy lifestyle.
Combining her knowledge, experience and passions for health, fitness, sales and community, Gina is excited to launch EKG Project with Emily and Natalie. “Being able to make such a positive difference not only in New York, but eventually nationwide, is a dream come true. When you feel better and look better, everything is better. I can’t wait to help everyone find the champion within.”
